Smyrna Travelers

Each season a select group of teams have represented SGSL and our com­munity as Goodwill Ambassadors. These are our "road teams" which compete in tournament play from May until August. SGSL teams play in several Middle TN communities and regularly qualify for postseason world tournament participation. Middle TN youth softball programs are consistently strong and "Smyrna Travelers" have seen success with several USSSA state titles. Our teams have competed in all age divisions at the national tournament level. Our league is a nationally recognized youth program and a long time leader in Tennessee youth softball.

The regular weekly practices, league games and weekend tournament play require commitment and a desire to achieve a higher level of excellence. To provide the ingredients for competitive road teams requires a consistently competitive and supportive league program as well as dedicated coaches, players and parents.

Our youth program advocates "the game is for kids" and strives to provide our girls with an atmosphere of excitement and enthusiasm for the game. We stress putting the best foot forward by displaying sportsmanship and competi­tive spirit from our road team participants. As each new season starts we hope each girl, coach and parent will look forward to the excitement and rewards of proudly continuing the "Smyrna Traveler" tradition.

Road team practices or games will not interfere with league play. League play comes first during the season.
